Sidney McMahon is an interdisciplinary artist working across sculptural installation, video and performance, exploring personal queer narratives through collaboration and cross-disciplinary practice. They are currently the Director of Parramatta Artists Studios. McMahon has completed a BFA (USQ), BFA (Hons), Master of Art Curatorship, and MFA at Sydney College of the Arts (USYD). Their practice has been supported through residencies including CitΓ© Internationale des Arts (Paris), Studio Voltaire (London), Wysing Arts Centre (UK), and Move Arts Japan/Asialink Arts (Kyoto–Tokyo), and they were the 2021 UTS Artist in Residence. They have exhibited nationally and internationally across solo, group and curatorial projects, including at ACCA, ACE Open, Auto Italia (LDN), Campbelltown Arts Centre, UTS Gallery, Verge Gallery, and Open Source Gallery (NY).

McMahon acknowledges the traditional custodians of the land they practice and work on, the Gadigal and Wangal peoples of the Eora Nation. They pay their respects to Elders past, present and emerging and they recognise that on this land Sovereignty was never ceded.
